Hello there,
Today I want to talk about transitions and how they affect time and about time itself.
Transitions are a way in movies to get from one picture to the next. The most common one is clearly the cut. But there are some others too, I like to fade to black on the dissolve.
Fade to black it's usually the end of the movie, if it's in the movie it usually symbolizes time passing.
And with cuts, there are a bunch of them. Match-cuts, which usually build connections between things. Whip cuts (or whip pan transitions), which make a dynamic transitions. And there is my last week.
INT. BEDROOM - MONDAY MORNING
Gunnar, a 40 something-year-old male wakes up. He's motivated and ready to begin his day and tackle all the things that have to be done.
He stretches rubs his hand. And then...
INT. KITCHEN - FRIDAY EVENING
Gunnar still stretches as he gets suspicious.
GUNNAR: Wait what? What happened...
As he realizes the time, he realizes that there is not much of it left. The week is over.
He tries to remember everything which happened in the last few days but comes up empty.

Technically this is a match cut, but you get the point.
Some people made an experiment and found out we experience time differently.
If you are doing nothing, waiting on a bench, for example, Time will move very very slowly.
At this moment.
If you are very busy, time will fly by.
At this moment.
In hindsight, which technically means at the end of your life lying In bed like a sack of potatoes, things are different.
You won't remember the times you were sitting on a bench and waiting. Like a sack of potatoes.
You will remember these times as very short if you remember them at all.
But you will remember the times you were busy, do you experience things went on a hike or did something unusual.
These are the things you will remember.
If you have a lot to remember you will think do you have a long life.
If your brain cuts out all the waiting, the idling and nothing remains, you will be left with feeling that your life was short.
The question I'm currently asking me is this:
If this daily grind happens to and a cut out of my life anyway, how do I get more things to remember into my week?
That's all for today, thanks for reading.
Gee.
